An early winter storm is set to cross the High Plains during the upcoming weekend. The storm will see low temperatures into the single digits, rain and snow. The storm will stop harvest and stress livestock.

Agriculture has gone through four volatile years of trade wars, exacerbated by extreme weather events and a year wracked by COVID-19 that devastated livestock markets. Still, prices are recovering during this harvest and election season, offering a more positive outlook that generally favors incumbents when rural America votes.
December corn is up 2 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 1/2 cent, and December KC wheat is up 3 1/4 cents.
As anticipated, the cattle complex was able to shrug off the bearish Cattle on Feed report for the most part Monday. Feeder cattle showed nice gains and held most of it while live cattle slipped back from good gains to close mixed. Lean hogs made a nice rebound Monday possibly signaling a change in trader sentiment.
